Probability and statistics in biomedical engineering (fall 2017)

INTRO
This course focuses on the applications of statistics and probability theory to the data analysis in biomedical engineering research. Our course will cover the following topics: concepts of probability, discrete and continuous random variables, probability distributions,expected values, independence, the treatment of statistical method with random sampling, data summary and description techniques, sampling distributions, the central limit theorem, point estimation of parameters, interval estimation for a single sample, hypothesis tests, tests and confidence interval for two samples, simple and multiple regression.
